Semester 1 YEAR 1

Hye Again!!!! Lama sudah tidak ketemuan hihi sorrylah sebab memang malas sikit nak update blog ni. 

so harini iols nak share pengalaman iols masa semester 1 year 1 in dental school ok! so tiring but also so exciting (tipu sikit)..

So sepanjang semester satu ni korang akan blaja dua benda basically. 

1) BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCE
2) ORAL SCIENCE

Basic Medical science (BMS)

So basically BMS ni is a medical subjects which mean subject yang medical students belajar throughout their preclinical years, we all dental students pon kena belajar. and depending on institute, uitm guna system module which consist of nine module which are

1) General Module (a lot damn!)

2) Musculoskeletal system (MSK)

3) Haemopoetic & Lymphoid system (H&L)

4) Cardiovascular system (CVS)

5) Gastrointestinal system (GIT)

6) Genitourinary system (GUS)

7) Respiratory system

8) endocrine system

9) central nervous system 

And untuk setiap system ni ada lagi pecahan kepada 6 subject: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, and Pharmachology

Anatomy ni basically pasal struktur tubuh badan kita lah. location dia kat mana, macam mana nak describe organ tu kat mana, origin dia, fungsi, and taklupa jgak histology cell certain organ (percayalah awal2 tu nampak smua cell sama je)

Physiology plak pasal how the process is happening. contohnya how the heart is pumping the blood to all over the body

Biochemistry ni plak complicated sbb bnda yang sukar nak imagine. dia ni mendalam sikit macam chemistry lah. how does the reaction happened to produce something.

Microbiology ni pasal kuman2 yang ada kat semesta alam. pathology pasal how the disease happened, and pharmacology opkoz about drugs.

yup korang mesti tertanya hallo kenaoa dental students pon kena belajar semua ni eak? let me give uols some situation and than think..

1) korang kat dental clinic which is not located together with medical counterpart (doctor2 medical takde kat situ). than tetibe patient pengsan atas dental chair. so korang nak buat apa? sementara tunggu ambulance, takkan nak biar je,? tak mati ke sementara tunggu ambulance kalau kita biar je? brain death can happen in just 3 minutes kalau takde blood supply kat otak. so kalau korang tak belajar benda2 medical ni kompem tak tau nak buat apa kan.

2) patient ada masalah gusi yang bengkak and banyak hilang gigi sebab gigi goyang. korang pon dah buat macam2 treatment dah tapi still bengkak lagi. let me tell you that certain medical problem and their medication can lead to oral proble, so kalau korang tak blajar medical pathology and proble, macam mana korang nak kenal pasti maslah oral tu dsbbkan mmng hanya masalh dr oral dia or ada masalah dr system badan dia. ya tak?

and banyak lg situation boleh bagi contoh tapi korang boleh je google actually, medical problem related with oral health.

ORAL SCIENCE

Yang ni pulak basically korang belajar pasal biology mulut and head and neck region. yup dentistry actualy not only covering bahagian mulut je k but head and neck region. mhon jangan salah anggap lg lepasni. so kat subject ni korang blajar lah macam mana struktur muka terjadi, macam mana lidah, gigi, muka, rahang semua trbentuk smpai lah jd organ yang smpurna.

than korang jgak akan ada subject universiti

1) TITAS

2) PBSM

3) Computer Science

4) English.

But student yang from Diploma boleh apply pengecualian credit hour untuk sbject pbsm, titas and english kalau depa ada blaja bnda ni kat diploma dulu. yg dr asasi and matrik, and stpm kena amek semua sbject ni.
